I think its time that someone listens to me and your going to be that someone. In October 2011 my mother called the cops on me after coming into my home and seeing my daughter with bruising over her eye area from a head contusion due to hitting her head on her bedrail. My insurance does not cover emergency room visits and my daughter did not seem drowsy, confused, or any way else to indicate she was in need of going to the hospital. So when the cops came they saw my daughter fall, from being pigeon toed, about 3 times. My mother kept taking different officers out of the house to speak with them and then Child protective Services in MD were called. While an on call CPS worker was talking with me and reviewing the house he stated that it was clean and how he noticed we got my daughter everything she needed and how my boyfriend and I don’t even have a bed. He also stated it did not look like I had abused my daughter. While I was talking with the CPS worker my mother took my daughter to the hospital and had the doctor call another CPS worker. When I found out what happened I told the CPS worker that was at my house and he became upset and we headed over to the hospital. Since two CPS workers had been called we had to follow a safety plan. The safety plan stated that my mother and grandfather had to supervise my daughter until the investigation was over. The safety plan is only valid in the state of MD. After a week my mother showed up at my job with my grandparents and stated that she had to go back to FL and my grandparents had to go back to NY. She also stated that if I didn’t give temporary custody to my grandparents than my daughter will go into foster care. While they were still at my job I called the CPS worker on the case and asked if this was true. I have recordings of our conversation. The CPS worker stated that I could not have my daughter in my household by myself. So I then gave verbal consent that ONLY my grandmother could take my daughter to NY. This was only until I was able to have my daughter back in my home. I later called the CPS worker when they left and told her that I was scared that my mother would try and take my daughter to FL. I then asked for advice. She told me to call the cops if that were to happen. That same night I called my grandmother to check up on my daughter and to tell her I was going to go visit my daughter that weekend coming up. My grandmother said ok and I called everyday leading up to that Saturday morning. When I had reached the train station to where my grandmother lives, I kept calling her house. No answer. I then called her cell phone more than 15 times. The last time I called I told her I was at the train station waiting for her, and this is when she told me that she was in FL. I yelled and screamed at her, telling her she had no right to take my daughter to FL without my consent and that if she didn’t bring my daughter back to NY that night I would call the cops. I then went to my boyfriends mothers house in NY and started calling sheriff offices in West palm beach FL and its surrounding areas. They all said that they could not help me. While on the bus ride back to MD I received a call from a CPS detective in FL and he started questioning me about my mother’s allegations and the CPS case in MD. The detective also spoke with my boyfriend. We had explained the whole situation and how I did not feel safe with my daughter staying in the house with my step-brother who had cops coming to our house almost every week, my mothers husband which is doing illegal gambling in the house, or my mother who smokes weed. They stated that my mother was allowed to open up an emergency CPS case in FL because of the safety plan that was issued in MD and only valid in MD, and that my daughter had established residency in FL. This was only because my daughter and I had lived with my mother from 2010- Sep 2011. That is how I know everything that goes on in the household. After the conversation with the CPS detective in FL a court case had been issued a few days later. With the court interfeiring there was nothing that I could do. I had to get a low-income lawyer and had to wait until the court date in January 2012.  I felt helpless. No matter who I called or what I did, no one would help me.  Dec 2011, I had received a letter in the mail from MD cps and it stated there no abuse was found and that the case was closed. If the case is closed in MD and no abuse was found then why is the case in FL still open? The million-dollar question that I ask everyone and they all say “I DON’T KNOW”.  I sent every piece of information to my lawyer and all the court could come up with is another court date in Feb 2012. I’m still here harassing my lawyer, and while they are at court I find out that my grandmother no longer wants temporary custody of my daughter and if I didn’t give my mother temporary custody my daughter is going into FL foster care. Of course I don’t want my daughter in foster care so I consent. In March 2012 I started to go to therapy sessions because a CPS worker in FL recommended it to my lawyer. So I completed therapy and upon completion I find out that there is another court case. My lawyer had filed a motion to dismiss the whole case. Then two days later I receive a summons stating that my mother is filing to get custody of my daughter. It was not enough that she made up 5 different stories to the police, CPS workers, Doctors and Lawyers so that she can take my daughter away from my care, but now she wants to get custody of her. I can barely afford going to FL on the last court date in April 2012 and now I have to get myself a lawyer to represent me in this custody case. The custody case states that I am unable to care for my daughter because I am currently pregnant and am 22 yrs old. It does not state how I have a full time job, an apartment, a car, a furnished home, dont do drugs, don’t drink alcohol or anything. How can I not take care of two kids at 22 yrs old? This is crazy. From day one when my daughter was taken out of NY without my consent someone should have helped me because that is child abduction. No one would even listen to me. I DID NOT ABUSE, HURT, or NEGLECT my daughter in any way shape or form. My daughter is what keeps me breathing. To keep my daughter away from me for 5 months is causing me great pain and suffering. I want something to be done. Every single name and phone number can be provided upon request. Please help me. I NEED MY DAUGHTER BACK NOW!
